Invitation to Prayer

Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Our mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, we seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).

"Ladders to God"

"Prayer reweaves the rent fabric of the universe. It releases us, in time, from the snares of lower energies. Total dependence on God makes us independent of the darkness of the world. No problem is too big or small, no question too important or unimportant to place in God's hands. We don't ask God for too much; in fact, we ask for too little. Turn to God for everything. Give everything to God. The mistake many people make is that although they believe in God, they do not intimately include God in their lives."
Illuminata: A Return to Prayer by Marianne Williamson

A message from Chris Laufer, Coordinator, Faces of Children

Greetings, Faces of Children Prayer Partner,

You show through your steadfast prayers for children that God is very much an intimate part of your life. Thank you for praying for children, those who care for them, those who have authority over them, and even for those who harm them. Thank you for trusting God with these concerns and celebrations ... for placing them into God's capable hands.

This coming Wednesday, October 13, 2010 we will meet to lift children-at-risk in prayer at 11:30 a.m. in the Bride's room at
First Presbyterian Church, Midland to throw ourselves into the work of praying for the children of our world. I hope you will be able to join us for this time of prayer and afterwards for lunch ($5) and fellowship.

If you have prayer concerns or celebrations about children at risk, those who care for them, have authority over them, or, yes, even those who harm them, please send them to me at at
claufer@facesofchildren.net, or give me a call. Thank you for praying for the children of our global and local communities!

The incredible grace of our Master, Jesus Christ, be with you,
Chris
