ODESSA-MIDLAND, TEXAS - The dry heat of West Texas won't be enough to keep the crowds away at this year's Rock the Desert festival, as planners say they are preparing to receive about 20,000 concertgoers.
The Christian music festival, which will take place August 4-6, started 11 years ago as an afternoon concert in a church parking lot. It since has evolved into a three-day festival that attracts thousands of people from all around the U.S.
