MIDLAND, TEXAS - Contemporary Christian artist Jimmy Needham and Christian rapper Trip Lee have been confirmed as the opening musical acts at the April 22 event featuring Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, Rock the Desert officials announced Tuesday.
The two musical acts will perform before Tebow takes the stage at Grande Communications to speak, which will be followed by a performance by Grammy Award-winning band Switchfoot from its latest album "Vice Verses." Needham's single featuring Lee, "Grace Amazing," won mtvU's Best Freshman Video of the Week in early February.
