From ServLife International ... "Emergency prayer needed as COVID-19 cases rise"

ServLife International is a movement defined by values of God’s kingdom, not programs built around human efforts and activities. The reign and rule of God should be made apparent to every person on the planet, despite their religion, race or socioeconomic status. We believe that issues of justice are inseparable from the good news that Jesus Christ came to proclaim. ServLife exists to take the gospel of Christ and the hope of a better, more just, world to the lives of people we touch. This happens through individual contributions of time, creativity, resources and dreams.

Emergency prayer needed as COVID-19 cases rise

Due to an alarming rise of COVID-19 cases in India and Nepal, schools have been shut down and cities are enforcing curfews and lockdowns. After only one month of training, we are temporarily closing our Pastor Training School in Kathmandu due to the pandemic and lockdown. Nepal Director Bekarhaj met with his board and staff, “We are all in agreement that it's best to send the students back and resume the training once the situation gets a bit normal. Even as they go back, they can continue with their field ministry.”

Schools throughout India and Nepal have shut down, including our school in Marocha, India. India Director Raja shares his concern, “The situation in India is not good. Hundreds are dying everyday in the cities. Most of the hospitals do not have sufficient oxygen supply. India is now buying oxygen from other countries. Much prayer is needed!”

India has passed 200,000 COVID-19 deaths, reporting 360,960 new cases and 3,293 deaths yesterday alone. Underreporting could mean real numbers are two to five times higher than this.

Please join with us in praying that the COVID-19 cases in India and Nepal would subside, that they would have access to the medications that they need, and that vaccines would become available. Pray for the pastor students returning home, and the children unable to attend school. Pray for families struggling economically due to the pandemic. And pray that the Holy Spirit would provide comfort in a way that nobody else can.

Thank you,
