MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Midland Planning & Zoning Commission on Monday approved a preliminary plat for the Spanish Church of Christ to build a new church in east central Midland at the southeast corner of Orchard Lane and North Tilden Street. Schumann Engineering Manager Cindy Klatt told the commission that the church, currently nearby at Orchard Lane and Loma Vista Street, envisions a bigger building. Church spokesman Domingo Machuca said afterward that the church has been in existence for more than 20 years and has about 150 members.
