ODESSA, TEXAS - Christmas comes early for struggling Odessa families this week through the Salvation Army but the two main fundraisers that provide a merry Christmas are struggling.

A food basket and gift distribution is scheduled Monday for those who applied and were accepted, but the funds that help buy the food and gifts are short this holiday season — threatening to “Grinch” some of the merry out of Christmas.

Both the Red Kettle program and the Empty Stocking Fund are short in Odessa ...
