In the News ... "Volunteers deploy in frigid weather to help Lubbock’s homeless ‘Survive The Night’"

As the Salvation Army of Lubbock's emergency disaster services “canteen” vehicle pulled up to the front of St. Benedict’s Chapel, a line of people forming in front of the building could read a message on the side of the vehicle:

“Heart to God, hand to man.”

As a part of the non-profit’s “Survive The Night” initiative, Doug Triplett, crew chief of the organization’s disaster alert response team, said six volunteers worked to live up to that message by helping homeless Lubbockites with little escape from the elements on a frigid day ...
