Invitation to Prayer from Faces of Children ... TODAY

Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Their mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, they seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).

Invitation to Prayer ... TODAY

Hi Friends,

If you're in Midland this week, we'll be meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13 - TODAY - for prayer. We meet in the prayer closet at First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Please join us in lifting up the needs of vulnerable children in our community and around the world!

Blessings,

Carrie

TEXAS // A Cry For Baby Cuddlers In San Antonio As Opioid Crisis Deepens

For babies born addicted to opioids due to prenatal exposure, volunteers like these people in San Antonio are the hands and feet of Jesus.   Read more here ...

Please pray for more people to respond to the call for more volunteer baby-cuddlers, and of course for these infants as they withdraw from these horrible drugs.

Could this be a need in our community? If God moves your heart to explore this possible area of service, please let us know what you learn!

INDIA // The Indian village where child sexual exploitation is the norm

This story feels awash in sorrow and injustice and hopelessness ... until you read about Mr. Chauhan.   Read more here ...

Please join me this week in praying particularly for this father. I know God cares about these children and this entire community and the whole issue, but I also know he cares about Mr. Chauhan and his 5 daughters. He cares about the particulars as well.

BANGLADESH // Rohingya

I kept seeing headline after headline out of the camps in Cox's Bazar I visited a few months back...

Thirty Rohingya refugees rescued from traffickers in Bangladesh
Myanmar villagers flee fresh Rakhine State fighting, enter Bangladesh
Drugs, violence threaten Rohingya men in world's largest refugee camp
Aid workers race to batten down Rohingya refugee camp with no sign of crisis ending
Elephants face 'time bomb' in Bangladesh land clash with Rohingya refugees

In many ways, the trip still feels fresh and their faces still remain in my heart. It's yet another series of stories that are awash in sorrow and injustice and hopelessness, but we can't stop praying.

Whether we're praying for matters close to home or far away, I pray we continue to "devote [ourselves] to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2, NIV.

All the best,

Carrie
