MIDLAND, TEXAS -
One church trying to feed hungry children in Midland might have to shut down its summer lunch program if it can't improve attendance within the next week. St. Paul United Methodist Church has been providing free lunches since July 2 for kids between the ages of 1 and 18, with $3 lunches available for adults. The lunches, which are served from 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, are sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service program. The program intends to provide healthy meals throughout the summer for children who receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch during the school year.
