Invitation to Prayer and Outreach from Faces of Children ... Wednesday

Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Their mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, they seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).

Invitation to Prayer and Outreach ... Wednesday

Dear Intercessors,

We will meet locally every Wednesday at 11:30 in the prayer closet at First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Please join us in lifting up the needs of vulnerable children in our community and around the world!

Sincerely,
Carrie McKean

Last week during our Faces of Children prayer meeting, we talked about an opportunity to reach out to the De Zavala Elementary staff. I wanted to follow-up with an email since I know some of you weren't able to come.

As a church, we've begun doing more to support this local elementary school, which for the most part doesn't have a lot of parental involvement. And this month, Faces of Children is going to get involved. I'm bringing a staff list to our prayer meeting next week for us to pray over the staff by name.

Faces of Children also sponsored snacks - I bought a lot at Sam's this weekend! - that we can take and deliver to the staff lounge. At the same time, we'd like to take cards to share that we are praying for them. We're also going to take a Prayer Box so that hopefully we can collect prayer requests and continue to pray over the staff and the things that weigh on their hearts for the rest of the semester.

This week when you come to Faces, please bring a card for the staff (teachers, administration, assistants, custodial and cafeteria crew) expressing your appreciation, thoughts, and prayers. Even if you can't join us in person, feel free to send me an email with your letter, and I'll print it to include with the others. Or if you want to send a card, send it to my attention at the church: FPC, 800 W. Texas, Midland, TX 79701.

We'll collect all these things along with the snacks that I purchased and deliver to De Zavala. If we want to, we could go together and deliver everything in person. Please let me know if Wednesday the 15th or the 22nd would work better for you as a delivery date.

Blessings,
Carrie

PS: If you're an out-of-town intercessor, maybe you can consider doing the same thing with one of your local elementary schools this month!!
