In the News ... "Commentary: When disaster hits, follow the True-Lite lead"

• A warming station is what many have needed in our community – some for an hour and some for an entire, bitterly cold night

MIDLAND, TEXAS - “We have brought the people over here and loved on them," said Roy Smith, True-Lite Christian Fellowship pastor. "And I mean, they are God's people, man. I don't care what their condition is. I don't care that they’re less fortunate. They belong to the Lord. He loves them just as much as he does you and me. He does.”

Does one need a better reason to provide shelter, food, warmth and compassion to the homeless and Midland residents in need? Pastor Roy Smith and Carla Smith don’t think so.

That is why when the temperatures dropped to record-breaking levels and a community was paralyzed by ice and wind chill, True-Lite was open, welcoming and ready to “just love on these people with the love of God” ...
