MIDLAND, TEXAS - It was a pink-clad, sold-out crowd that was laughing until their sides hurt at the 2022 Pink the Basin Benefit Luncheon featuring comedian Leanne Morgan.

A pink painted semi-truck that was “Pulling for the Cure” sat parked outside of the event that took place at the Horseshoe. After checking in, a long, lush pink carpet directed everyone underneath a luxurious oversized pink, red and gold balloon arch.

Guests arrived at their seats to find a pink “goody bag” in their seat. A Texas Fiesta Salad topped with either Garlic Rosemary Beef Flank Steak or Flame Grilled Chipotle Lime Chicken Breast was beautifully plated and served for lunch. Dessert was a choice between Berry Chantilly Cake or Key Lime Pie.

Tatum Hubbard welcomed everyone. Dawn Weaks then said the prayer. Breast cancer survivors then hit the runway for a style show, each escorted by a Texas Tech medical student. After that, Leanne Morgan took the stage. She entertained the audience by explaining in a comical way how women change as they grow older and views that they have as they age. Pink the Basin President Sheila Simmons then announced the Volunteer of the Year awards for 2020, 2021 and 2022, which were Christi Callicoatte, Roxy Brown and Tina Mobley, respectively.
