Under the new format, a pair of two-day gatherings will be held each year, one coinciding with homecoming in the fall, and other with Sing Sing in the spring.

The fall portion of this year's Summit, scheduled for Oct. 13 and 14, will be "Abide With Me," and will focus on children’s ministry, Hispanic ministry, preaching, recovery ministry, small church leaders and youth ministry, ACU said in a news release.

Author and practical theologian Dr. Andrew Root will be the featured speaker at the Oct. 13 plenary session, "Churches and the Crisis of Decline."
