MIDLAND, TEXAS - To kick off the holiday season, Keith Land and his family received 97 cookies, 110 packages of hot chocolate mix, 30 greeting cards, one wooden take-apart toy, one wooden ship toy, four stuffed animals, 45 gift cards to restaurants and grocery stores, $2,065 in cash and a banner with the signatures of several first- through fourth-graders whom the family has never met.

The children are members of First United Methodist Church’s Operation: Faith Challenge Sunday school class. Their mission: to make the holiday season a little happier for one military family.
