WAW Wednesday ... Valley of Peace Partners Partners Floor Project

"The Word at Work is a ministry that mobilizes churches and individuals to answer God's call to minister to those in need," writes Rev. Tim Tam, Director of the Amarillo, Texas-based ministry. "Through our relationships, God reveals needs and opportunities for service. As we come along side the poor, new friendships develop and doors for ministry open. As we serve, God provides the resources to supply for the needs he reveals."

Valley of Peace Partners Partners Floor Project

Hello Friends,

TWAW along with Valley of Peace Partners (VOPP) has built dozens of homes in the Valley of Peace in the Cayo District of Belize. The criteria to qualify for a home???? Who has the greatest need.

It doesn't matter where they go to church. It doesn't matter if they go to church. The idea is that if we start by providing for those with the greatest need, we raise up the whole community.

Recently a God-inspired idea came from Pat Harshall of Christ the King Church in Oxford Michigan. He noticed the difficulties of homeowners with dirt floors that rapidly become mud floors when it rains.

And he observed that for the cost of a home to help one family, many families could be benefited simply by pouring many concrete floors. Pat's church came to Belize and assisted our church partners in the Valley of Peace in pouring new floors for three homes.

They also left behind extra funds so that the local churches could continue this effort. This weekend churches in the Valley came together to pour a floor for
the Pop family.

Six floors now completed and only 30 to go!

Would you like to sponsor a family with a new floor to get their children's feet out of the mud?

Send us $600 and a note "VOPP Floor Project"

TWAW sends medical the equipment and supplies for hospice, hospitals, and clinics all over the country Belize.

Has God given you any money designated for postage?

Our warehouses are filling up. An average sea container ships for about $7,000.

Volunteers from Westminster Presbyterian Church, St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, Saint Stephen's Methodist, and others worked with Tim Hagen recently to sort medical supplies bound for Belize. We ended up with 36 boxes of donated surgical supplies from BSA in Amarillo. Thousands of dollars worth of supplies! Thanks to Melinda Hodnik, Joan Gaines (not pictured), Diana Reyes, Kay Stanley, Karli Dye, Carol Thomas, Charlene Forguson (not pictured), and Levina Herr for all the hard work!

Thanks for being the Word at Work!
