Beloved Community of Grace,
The session (leadership council) has decided to take a pause from having in-person worship services at Grace, for the next 2 weeks or so. You are probably aware that the numbers of daily new COVID cases here in Midland County are at an all-time high, as are hospitalizations. We know that we risk possible exposure in the essential areas of our lives – work, grocery store, pharmacy, etc., so we feel the need to take this action to help decrease exposure potential for all of us. Taking this step is a way to help keep all of us safer. When we see the numbers trending back down we will resume in-person worship. We will keep everyone informed along the way. I am disappointed that we have to do this – we had just gotten into the rhythm of coming together again (with all the new protocols in place). This is temporary, as we necessarily show love for one another and our community by staying apart.
So instead of meeting in person we are planning to worship by ZOOM beginning this Sunday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m.
• Sunday School will also be by ZOOM only, not in person.
• Small group and committee in-person meetings are at the discretion of the group leader. We ask that all meetings take place in the Fellowship Hall, with the outside doors open and fans running.
• Sadly, we are canceling Trunk or Treat for this year, because of safety concerns with a public event. Our Service Team will be making goodie bags and plans to do a porch drop for a church kids.
• October Mission Reminder: We are collecting these items for the Community Children’s Clinic - Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Kleenex, Letter-sized Copy Paper
Manna Bags are available for you to keep in your car to give to folks on the street corners.
We also have our ongoing collection of Travel-Size Toiletries for donation to various local agencies.
I look forward to seeing your smiling faces on ZOOM this Sunday!Grace & Peace,
Cheryl Homsher
