MIDLAND, TEXAS - A north Midland neighborhood last week became the setting for a protest unlike any in our community’s long history.

It was a protest that one of our own, Bob Fu, was a spy for the Chinese Communist Party while living in Midland. Fu is leader of the Midland-based nonprofit ChinaAid Association.

But if this demonstration was designed to bring any type of local, regional or national public pressure on Fu and his family, it appears to have backfired ...
