ODESSA, TEXAS - TAs the story goes, Odessa, TX, got its name because railroad workers thought it resembled their homeland of Odesa, Ukraine.

Whether the story is true or not, it links the two cities. But for some, the link between Texas and Ukraine goes a bit further.

In 2004, Jesse Gore traveled to Ukraine to evangelize and teach English for the first time.
