MIDLAND, TEXAS - Fifteen years ago, the Rev. Gary Dyer addressed his new congregation for the first time on a Wednesday evening. It was family night during vacation Bible school week at First Baptist Church and Dyer said he had never before spoken to such a large group of people.
This Wednesday, Dyer will address the congregation one final time during an informal Bible study — his last act as senior pastor at First Baptist Church. Sunday he will preach his last sermon at the church.
