ODESSA, TEXAS - For many, Christmas is seen as the best time of the year because of the traditions behind family, togetherness, and for children, the presents.

But not everyone finds the holidays so enjoyable. For some, it is also stressful; not because the laundry list of chores that need to be done, but because they cannot find a way to provide gifts for their children ...

The Empty Stocking Fund — a joint venture of the Salvation Army and Odessa American — is used to give Christmas gifts and meal baskets to families in need. The OA runs daily stories on 1A throughout the campaign to highlight families in need ...
