ABILENE, TEXAS - A beloved name, still, in Christian music is Rich Mullins.
Mullins died in 1997, when the Jeep in which he was riding overturned. Severely injured in the crash was Mitchell McVicker, who both performed and collaborated with Mullins. Above all, they were Christian brothers.
Their last project together was "The Jesus Record," released the next year. In 1999, the Gospel Music Association honored their song "My Deliverer" as song of the year.
