ODESSA, TEXAS - Behind the bars of his prison cell, the Rev. Strauss McCreary had come full circle. After a life of dealing and doing drugs and engaging in gang activities with the Crips, McCreary was sent to prison in 1990 and came out a “saved” man.

In 1993, he started preaching but, in 2006, he found himself back in prison, implicated when he said he was trying to help his brother get clean of drugs. It was this arrest that, McCreary said, saved his life.
