Invitation to Prayer ... Tomorrow
Hi Friends,
We will be meeting this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., in the gym conference room at First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. I hope you can join us!
Also, Faces of Children is now on Facebook! I invite you to like our page so that you can see regular stories, prayer needs, and updates from partner ministries.
All the best,
Carrie
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
an ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 46
Dear Intercessors,
Over the last year, we've spent time praying in every corner of the globe, including our own. From Thailand to Syria, Burma to Bangladesh, there are no places on this Earth where God is not moving mountains on behalf of His children.
If we were to pay attention to news headlines alone, we would think it is dire and hopeless... the world becoming an ever-darkening pit of despair.
But that's not the full story.
Many of the children we've prayed for are served by the ministry Partner's Relief and Development. This year, Partner's put together an end-of-year video that captures both the faces of the children we pray for and also celebrates the way God is using our prayers and our love to bring about hope and a brighter future for families in the darkest hour of need. We work closely with other groups serving in the same places, including Free Burma Rangers, Preemptive Love Coalition, G.R.O.W. Home, and others, and the reports we've received from them this year echo the same message of this video - while the needs are still great, God is at work.
I hope as you watch this short video, you will take some time to praise God for all He is doing in the world today through the prayers of His people and the hands and feet of His children.
As Mr. Rogers once said, ""When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster," I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world."
Let's use our prayer time this week to acknowledge God's provision, protection, and fierce love for His little ones by thanking Him for all the ways we see God moving in the world today.
Blessings,
Carrie
