ODESSA, TEXAS - JoAnn Torres paused for just a second, under the awning of her new porch.

As visitors shuffled past, through her new front door at the home’s dedication, she thought back to all the work she, and others, had put in to erect that house and to get to that point.

Was it worth it?

A smile flashed across her face right away.
