From @mmm_water ... 2019 Well Season: Daily Devotional

September 14 - October 28 is Marion Medical Mission Well Season for 2019. The season will include daily devotionals - one for each day the U.S. volunteers are overseas, sharing the love of Jesus by providing safe, clean, sustainable sources of drinking water to the extreme poor in sub-Saharan Africa. Marion Medical Mission is one of our mission partners at Grace Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas, and we STRONGLY encourage you to read these devotions to learn more about - and pray for! - their mission.

THE TIME IS NOW
Tom Logan
Co-founder, Marion Medical Mission

"When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water."
Isaiah 35:5-6

We are Christians. We love God by loving His creation. We work hand-in-hand with God's people. We produce. We use what God has given us; our arms, our legs, our hands, our resources; doing the best we can where we are with what we have, and then going beyond what we can do by ourselves to where we must rely on God.

However, on a cramped 24-hour flight to Africa, I'm apprehensive over the coming battle: 3,000 wells in 3,000 remote African villages before the rains come in November. It's too much. It's beyond what can be done; beyond what we can do. The problems are too great. Good people have donated the funds to help build the wells and more donations continue to come in. We have been entrusted with this money which is given so God's people will have safe drinking water. There are 3,000 African villages counting on us; they have gathered the stone and sand and made the brick. The villagers are digging the wells and the African Field Officers and well builders are working tirelessly. What if we let them down? The responsibility is too great.

I am comforted as I remember past victories God has blessed and the knowledge that this battle is not too big for Him. I do know Marion Medical Mission is an organization that prays hard and often and then gets up off its knees and goes to work using what God has given us and risking what we believe.

Application: The time is now. Pray, pray often and when you do, move your feet.

Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven...
