LUBBOCK, TEXAS - The Panhandle-South Plains Fair this week allows people to socialize and enjoy food, rides and other entertainment, but it also provides an opportunity to fundraise for local organizations.

Crystal Edwards, a vendor with the St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church’s cotton candy truck, said her congregation relies on proceeds earned at two events: the fair and their annual bake sale.

“This helps us survive the year, basically,” she said ...
