"Support Our Anti-Trafficking Work This Holiday Season”
Dear Friends of ECPAT-USA,
Today, ECPAT-USA kicks off our annual fund campaign. As we enter the holiday season, we hope you are well, that you are safe, and that you will support our work to protect children during this time of urgent need.
The year 2020 has been unlike any other: a global pandemic has ravaged communities, shuttering schools and leaving young people isolated, unsupervised, and online for hours daily. Predators thrive in this chaos, heightening the risk for child trafficking and online exploitation. ECPAT-USA is meeting this moment by working to prevent these unconscionable crimes before they happen. While funding has shrunk due to the economic impact of COVID-19, child exploitation doesn’t take a break or slow down.
ECPAT-USA’s Youth Against Child Trafficking Program provides children, parents, and teachers with education on healthy relationships and online safety and creates critical trafficking prevention and response curricula for schools. We drive public policy, most recently advocating for laws that stop the creation or spread of child sexual abuse material online.
Your gift DISRUPTs traffickers.
Sex trafficking has boomed during the pandemic, so hotels ranging from family-run inns to global brands need information that helps prevent trafficking on their premises. ECPAT-USA partners with industry leaders to offer free e-learning to hospitality businesses, available in 17 languages for global impact. We teach employees to spot behaviors that indicate a likelihood of trafficking and to respond in ways that protect our children, our workplaces, and our communities.
Your gift UPLIFTs survivors.
In a world cluttered with misinformation, ECPAT-USA provides no-nonsense facts. The brave members of our Survivors’ Council ensure our programs are trauma- and survivor-informed, so that the people who take care of our kids learn effective ways to protect them.
At the heart of all our programs is every child’s right to live free from sexual exploitation and abuse. Please give generously to help us protect, disrupt, and uplift those targeted by trafficking and exploitation. Please make your gift today at www.ecpatusa.org/donate.
With gratitude,
