From Partners Relief & Development ... “Your 2020 Christmas survival guide”

Steve and Oddny Gumaer started Partners Relief and Development in response to the needs of refugees and displaced people from Burma, and now in the Middle East, as well. Their mission is to demonstrate, through holistic action, God’s love to children and communities made vulnerable by war in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and other conflict zones.

Your 2020 Christmas survival guide

How do you celebrate the most wonderful time of the (WORST) year ever?

As safely as possible.
Lots of board games and walks.
By helping those who have lost everything.
Hot cocoa, mulled wine, cookies, candles.
With loads of gratitude and hope.

2020 is the perfect year to embrace the Icelandic tradition of tucking into a new book and a chocolate bar on Christmas Eve. So everyone in my family will get a book (I ordered this one for myself) and a bar of this chocolate.

I will also spend some time reflecting on how for 9 whole months, when anxiety and contagion surrounded us all, you still thought of others. That might take awhile.

Because all this odd year long, you quietly, consistently, kindly, gave.

Bit by bit, you allowed us to ...

Thank you so much,
