ABILENE, TEXAS - The telephone conversation must have sounded odd to anyone who happened to be listening on one end.

“I’m blind, I can’t see,” Wenhui “Sherry” Dou said.

“I’m wearing hearing aids, and I can’t hear,” Don Heller replied.
