Founded in 2001, Free Wheelchair Mission is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing wheelchairs for the impoverished disabled in developing nations. Headquartered in Irvine, California, FWM works around the world in partnership with a vast network of humanitarian, faith-based and government organizations, sending wheelchairs to hundreds of thousands of disabled people, providing not only the gift of mobility, but of dignity, independence, and hope.

Friday Story: “For the Love of Family”

Sifiso, a 34-year-old man in rural Eswatini, never saw it coming.

In December of 2017, he said goodbye to his two little girls, ages 6 and 8, climbed into a vehicle with his brother, and started heading for the city.

The two siblings were debating whose favorite soccer team was better when the other car seemed to come out of nowhere.

The ensuing collision wrecked their vehicle, damaging Sifiso’s spinal cord and leaving him without mobility ...
