• In 1882, religious congregations began to think of building houses of worship

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - When researching the history of churches in San Angelo, several mentions surface of a stone Presbyterian church built in 1884 that was, for some years, important in the religious life of the town. For a variety of reasons, the congregation went different directions, and the church was sold and pulled down sometime after 1905.

A local account by Susan Miles (right) published by the Standard-Times in 1954, contained just about everything that can be known about this early House of Worship.
