• Nonprofit The Field’s Edge gains momentum on the way to building a tiny-home community

MIDLAND, TEXAS - I was first introduced to John-Mark Echols and his wife, Briana, when a trailer for the documentary “Finding Home in Boomtown” -- which they are the subjects of -- was shown at Midland’s first Ted Talk in April. I decided to do a feature on them and their nonprofit, The Field's Edge, and interviewed them the following month.

They came across as genuine and determined in their mission to construct a village of 100 tiny houses for Midland’s homeless population. I found it inspiring and I wondered -- as others might have -- if it would come to fruition ...
