ServLife International is a movement defined by values of God’s kingdom, not programs built around human efforts and activities. The reign and rule of God should be made apparent to every person on the planet, despite their religion, race or socioeconomic status. We believe that issues of justice are inseparable from the good news that Jesus Christ came to proclaim. ServLife exists to take the gospel of Christ and the hope of a better, more just, world to the lives of people we touch. This happens through individual contributions of time, creativity, resources and dreams. |

Romans 12:8c says "The leader should lead with passion." And I am blessed to be able to lead ServLife out of deep passion, conviction and gratitude.
When I got involved with ServLife back in 2003, I loved that they both preached the hope and love of Jesus, but also showed God's love in practical ways. Love and service are at the very heart of why ServLife exists, and I would like to share with you the latest expression of this through our new mission statement.
I love how Ephesians 4 describes the mission of God's people, and we have rooted our new mission statement on verses 11-13:
He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. His purpose was to equip God's people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God's Son. God's goal is for us to become mature adults-to be fully grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of Christ.
God has called all of us to play a role in serving and sharing His love with others, with the ultimate goal of Christ-like maturity. In that light, ServLife's new mission statement is:
ServLife International seeks to equip God's people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ by providing education, equipping and empowerment for churches, children and families in need around the world.
Our services and programs have not changed, but we are emphasizing a focus on education, equipping and empowerment with both the people we serve and the partners serving them. Sustainability and organizational health are high values, and we are excited to see this reflected in the next chapter of our organization.
I'm grateful for your friendship and partnership to continue and refine this amazing work around the world. May God continue to bless our partnership to serve and build up the body of Christ as we all move toward deeper maturity in Jesus.
Starting September 15 through the end of October, ServLife will have $50,000 in matching funds available.
So DON'T GIVE. Not yet anyway...
I'm SUPER excited about the matching funds and ever MORE EXCITED about the project we're raising funds to complete. (It's a children's home building that will house up to 48 kids!)
