ODESSA, TEXAS - The Rev. Jimmy Dennis, pastor of Agape Dream Center at 1618 E. Murphy St., began as “a street preacher” and says he will stay one, taking his southeast Odessa church’s “Pursuit” and “Adopt a Block” programs to the neediest, most troubled people he can find.
Although usually well-received, he has been assaulted several times. “I’ve had a .45 stuck in my face and a knife held to my throat, and I have been slapped 20 times,” Dennis said ...
