ST. LAWRENCE, TEXAS - This small unincorporated community south of Garden City in Glasscock County will get much bigger for a day with the Oct. 2, St. Lawrence Fall Festival.

Spokeswoman Martha Schwartz said more than 2,000 people are expected from around the Permian Basin and farther for the 60th annual event, which, modeled after the original 206-year-old Oktoberfest in Germany, is best known for the thousands of pounds of uncooked German sausage that the men of St. Lawrence Catholic Church make to finance parish maintenance and improvements ...
