MIDLAND, TEXAS - With the powerful winds of hurricane Matthew devastating the east coast locals with the Permian Basin Red Cross are on standby ready for deployment.

"When there is a need, Red Crossers respond," said Executive Director of the Permian Basin Tracy Austin. "Even if we are thousands of miles away, we are ready to go."

She said although Matthew's path may be more than a thousand miles away local volunteers are ready to make the trip to the east coast if needed ...
