SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - Leading the 29-county San Angelo Diocese and its 65 faith communities is an epic task, but it’s one Bishop Michael Sis had prepared for most of his life before his December 2013 appointment to succeed Bishop Michael Pfeifer.

The 57-year-old Bryan native had foreseen his destiny during a summer camp at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston at age 13. “I’m motivated by my love for God and secondly by my love for people, and I can live out both of those loves in the priesthood,” he said ...
