In the News ... "Three congregations share space at Memorial Christian Church"

MIDLAND, TEXAS - Most churches teach the Bible verse, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” but three Midland churches put it into practice every single day.

Memorial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) houses two other churches in its spacious facility on Andrews Highway. All Saints Anglican Church and Church On the Journey share the space, offering a monthly donation in lieu of rent.

“One of the realities is that most churches sit vacant through the week,” said the Rev. Terry Rothermich, pastor at Memorial Christian Church. “They’re very underutilized. Rather than three churches putting all their resources into three facilities, it’s better stewardship to combine our properties.”

The churches share a kitchen, parlor and fellowship hall and have one office secretary. Memorial Christian Church and Church On the Journey share the main sanctuary for worship services, while All Saints Anglican Church converts the fellowship hall into a makeshift sanctuary on Sundays.
