ABILENE, TEXAS - Drive on Butternut Street to the corner of South Eighth Street and witness a miracle.

“The Miracle of Israel,” to be exact.

That is what is under construction in the parking lot of the Discovery Center, founded by the late Tommy Walden and his wife Carolyn, who continues to operate the center, with the help of Paul Cornelius, executive director.

Groundbreaking was Feb. 2 for an addition to house the new exhibit, which will feature the story of the creation of the state of Israel, along with artifacts and photos from Israel ...
