LUBBOCK, TEXAS - A holiday gift-giving tradition that started with an 8-year-old Lubbock girl’s empathy for those in need continued for its sixth season.

Abby Boyce, 13, dropped off armful after armful of blankets piled into the back (and other nooks and crannies) of her mom’s SUV Wednesday morning at the shelter at 16th Street and Avenue J.

This has been a holiday tradition for the Terra Vista Middle School student ever since she was an 8-year-old elementary student in Frenship ISD ...
