From Austin Seminary: "End-of-year plans ... it's almost over"

"End-of-year plans ... it's almost over

Where has the time gone?

As we head into the home stretch of this most unusual year, now is a good time to begin making your plans for year-end charitable giving. There have been a number of new laws enacted which may change the way you make your charitable gifts this year.

The CARES Act:

1. Created a universal $300 charitable deduction if you take the standard deduction.
2. Removed the cap on gifts you may make to qualified charities if you itemize.

If you are considering making a gift to Austin Seminary using appreciated securities or an IRA distribution, you should begin that conversation with your financial advisor soon.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities may be given to Austin Seminary through our fiduciary partner, Texas Presbyterian Foundation. Call Associate for Donor Relations Sharon Sandberg at 512-537-8338, or send her an email for more information.

Using a Distribution from your IRA is an excellent way to make a gift to Austin Seminary, and it may provide tax advantages for you. Consult with your IRA custodian about how to make a gift using your IRA's RMD. As always, if you are in need of more information or assistance, please call Associate for Donor Relations Sharon Sandberg at 512-537-8338 or send her an email for more information.
