MIDLAND-ODESSA, TEXAS - As Christian post-hardcore band Wolves At The Gate performed songs "Dead Man" and "In Your Wake" at Rock The Desert (RTD) on Thursday, some members of the crowd jumped up and down, keeping rhythm with the music.
A few even flailed their necks and arms in time with the double bass drum kicks as vocalist Steve Cobucci and screamer Nick Detty shared lyrics on the stage.
Thursday's lineup highlighted the hard rock side of Christan/gospel music that also includes groups such as Sleeping Giant, For Today and headliner Flyleaf, which several said was exactly what they were looking for in the concert.
