MIDLAND-ODESSA, TEXAS - Lara Watson - preparing to take the stage at Rock The Desert (RTD) - originally didn’t want to sing Christian music.
“I totally wanted to be the next Taylor Swift,” the 19-year-old singer said. “I started singing when I was a little girl — it was totally my heart, it’s all I wanted to do forever. I didn’t want to sing Christian music. I was like, ‘I want to be a pop star.’”
But then life threw her a twist. While attending Belmont University in her native Nashville, Tennessee, Watson traveled to the Dominican Republic and Haiti to volunteer with Boys & Girls Clubs.”
