September 1 - October 31 is Marion Medical Mission Well Season for 2021. The season will include daily devotionals - one for each day the U.S. volunteers are overseas, sharing the love of Jesus by providing safe, clean, sustainable sources of drinking water to the extreme poor in sub-Saharan Africa. YOU CAN'T DO WITHOUT

One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha. “We have a problem, my lord,” they told him. “This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.”
2 Kings 2:19

Life is a wonderful gift from God and all things around us complement life. Indeed there are many things that support life on a day to day basis. These daily activities have different contributions to sustain human life.

There are times one can live without friends, possessions, position, education, even money. But, water stands out to be more valuable above all that. We cannot live or do without water. Especially clean potable water for consumption and other uses.

We also have noted that water causes miscarriage to the land so much that plants and crops cannot do well. This means clean, good potable water is life to all living and productive plants and animals. Yes, providing clean potable water is paramount. When we cry to God that this water is full of diseases to us, through him we have seen you our brothers and sisters from the U.S coming to Malawi to assist us with well pumps to purify dirty water into sweet clean water. Which saves lives and brings back human dignity for the rural people in Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania.

This clean portable water is also related to Jesus Christ who told his disciples that “you won’t do anything without me” John 15:9.

Therefore Jesus is water for life given from God. Hence, we cannot do anything without Jesus and water.

Application Question: What do you value most in your life?

Prayer: Dear Lord, give us clean good potable water that will change our land into more productive and help us to avoid suffering from water borne diseases. Amen.
