ODESSA, TEXAS - Fred Camarillo has given up one weekend a month for the past five years to study in San Angelo, but this wasn’t just any course.
He was studying to be a deacon, just one of three ordained clergy in the Roman Catholic Church. And [this past weekend], 29 deacons [were] ordained in San Angelo, including two from Odessa — Camarillo and ECISD Superintendent Hector Mendez.
