MIDLAND, TEXAS - Barbara Handley was visiting with another parishioner in her church foyer after Sunday services a couple weeks ago. When the two stopped talking, Handley heard a welcomed noise: the excitement and vitality evident in voices of others who had stayed after the service.
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Midland recently hired its first full-time minister in eight years, and Handley said she already can tell a difference in the congregation.
