Invitation to Prayer from Faces of Children ... Tomorrow

Faces of Children is an ecumenical prayer ministry under the auspices of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Their mission is to initiate ministries of prayer for children in churches, communities, and neighborhoods. In doing so, they seek to provide an opportunity for people of God to join together, learn about children and their needs throughout the world, and celebrate Christ's love (especially as it relates to children).

Invitation to Prayer ... Tomorrow

Hi Friends,

If you're in Midland this week, we'll be meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, for prayer. We meet in the prayer closet at First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. Please join us in lifting up the needs of vulnerable children in our community and around the world! I pray as we embark on this Holy Week, your heart finds deep hope in the promise of Easter Sunday after the quieted praises of Palm Sunday and the betrayal of Thursday and the darkness of Friday.

Blessings,

Carrie

IN AFRICA: I've been thinking a lot about family the last few weeks... I've been pondering this verse out of Psalm 68:6... a promise that God sets the lonely in families. And this week, I saw a story that embodies just this principal. Rwandan genocide orphans and widows find hope and healing in new families. We harm ourselves when we define family too narrowly.

Please pray for these children, and also for our own hearts to widen and embrace the expansive family of God more and more.

IN THE MIDDLE EAST: Teenage ISIS brides remain trapped in ISIS camps. Seen by the world as complicit to the ISIS cause, but victims of it through forced marriages, they are spurned by ISIS-loyalists and treated with suspicion by camp administrators, and they have no clear path out of the detention facilities. God knows their hearts.

Please pray for these young women and their futures.

IN AMERICA AND AFRICA: Tornadoes ripped through East Texas, killing two young children when a tree fell onto their moving car. Their parents, in the front seat, were unhurt. Meanwhile, hundreds-of-thousands of people try to pick up the pieces of their lives in the wake of Cyclone Idai, which ripped through Mozambique and Malawi last month.

Pray for the children and parents grieving and fearful and uncertain about the future.

As we come to God in prayer, may we approach His throne with a spirit of praise and adoration. To help us in have a posture of worship, I wanted to share this song. Is He Worthy? Yes He is!

All the best,

Carrie
