SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - The following is a statement from Bishop Michael J. Sis, Roman Catholic Diocese of San Angelo, on the Supreme Court legalizing same-sex marriage:

“The Supreme Court of the United States ruled today that the Constitution guarantees a nationwide right to same-sex marriage. The redefinition of marriage according to civil law does not change the understanding of marriage in our faith tradition. The position of our Church is that marriage is a natural institution that predates any government ..."
