FBR Report: "The Girl in the Yellow Dress and the Man Who Gave His Life for Her"

The Free Burma Rangers (FBR) is a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement. They bring help, hope and love to people in the war zones of Burma (Myanmar) and the Middle East. Groups send teams to be trained, supplied and sent into the areas under attack to provide emergency assistance and human rights documentation. Together with other groups, the teams work to serve people in need.

On May 4, 2017, the Free Burma Rangers Iraq team helped rescue a family who had been shot while trying to flee ISIS sniper fire. During the rescue, a daughter, Aisha, and her father were shot again. Our translator, Shaheen, was also shot during the rescue and later died. Muhammad, our Iraqi friend, was shot six times while rescuing Shaheen.
