In the News ... “Rock the Desert 2018: Detroit’s 'Alive City' singer keeps eye on future"

MIDLAND/ODESSA, TEXAS - The road to Rock the Desert 2018: No Fear has been a bumpy one recently for Alive City -- most notably for singer and songwriter Zachary Schosseau. A hiking trip gone awry led him closer than he should have been to Mount Rushmore. After a fine and detainment by the authorities, he and the band are back on track.

“I haven’t been on a hike and I wanted a to see it a bit closer,” he said in a phone interview. “I was going for a picture and it turned out to be federal property. I had no idea it would turn out that way.”

But the bump hasn’t stopped or even derailed the band’s momentum after winning the Christian Festival Association’s talent search competition in 2017. Now they are on bills and lineups with contemporary Christian music heavyweights such as For King and Country, Tenth Avenue North and Matthew West. At this weekend’s Rock the Desert, Alive City’s Friday night billing has them sharing the stage with We Are Messengers, Family Force Five and Switchfoot.
